The elevation of Pope Leo XIV is a profound and historic occasion. Like so many around the world, I am praying for him and wishing him and the Church well as his papacy begins.

So let me get this straight, we finally get an American pope, and some of the America first crowd is mad because he cares about the poor and immigrants. Am i missing something here?

sometimes i wonder how many versions of myself i’ve outgrown without even noticing. i look back at old photos and remember the thoughts i used to carry, the dreams i thought would save me. it’s strange how you can live inside yourself every day and still not realize you’re evolving. it’s only when you look back that you realize how far you’ve come, how many lives you’ve already lived in the same skin.

i think that’s because the “writing your best work” is all about being able to make other people feel deep emotions only by reading words on a screen, so the emotion we feel in the very moment we are writing those words down are so raw and strong that are felt by readers trough what we’re writing!
Totally get this—somehow the hardest feelings bring out the clearest words. But it’s not just the pain doing the work—it’s you showing up in the middle of it. That’s strength. Keep writing.
Raw and bonafide emotions always provoke a deeper thought within you. Everytime you do this, it gives the reader a greater connection to the work you put out.
Emotions baby… those make for the best work. Raw and feeling. Keep doing it. Also the release is so nice. Even if it’s just jotting it down. That’s fucking therapeutic.
We are all constantly moving through two phases in life —within both large and small cycles. One is when our chest no longer fits the shell, so we shed our skin —that’s when we grow. The other is when we gather information about ourselves in our new skin, until ultimately, we shed it again.
We write entire essays in our heads while doing laundry, walking to the shop, or brushing our teeth — but the moment we sit down at a laptop, it’s like our brain unplugs itself from the wall.
