(I’m writing daily poem’s for napowrimo and posting them here on notes. Today’s is a brief reflection on the day and a reminder that art’s birth is often just vulnerability grazing the earth.)
Poem 10: April 10
“My Heart Grazed the Earth”
I left fragments of my heart in the earth today.
I spilled my heart’s thoughts into a handwritten letter.
I strung my heart’s tears into song as I played
Vivaldi’s four seasons on the family piano—
In a candlelit room, while birds tapped on the window.
I sewed my heart’s questions into brief interactions,
Which felt somewhat one-sided like my words had no traction.
But somewhere a new garden has given birth,
Because in brief little moments of the mundane today,
I let my guard lower; let my heart graze the earth.
