I feel like it is worth noting that the Dominion of Canada has its own “north of 60” problem as well, where the long-time peoples of these territories don’t see themselves represented in the south-of 49’th settler-colonial government.

I wish we were talking about protecting the independence of the Inuit Nunagat from foreign colonial/imperialist control rather than forcing these peoples to choose the lesser of various foreign occupying forces (USA, Canada, Denmark, Russia)..
