I strongly resonate with most of this article, except for a very specific framing.

I believe this is an example of a category error. Canada and Denmark are in the same category, while Inuit Nunangat and Inuit Nunaat (Greenland) are in the same category. I wouldn't expect Canada, a loyal part of the Anglosphere, to have the same level of refusal as the more relevant Inuit peoples about their own lands.

The foreign government of Canada has not yet offered the same level of autonomy to the Innuit regions it claims jurisdiction over as Denmark has. Nunavut becoming a territory was a good start, but Nunavik and Nunatsiavut are still considered parts of provinces, and the Inuvialuit Settlement Region part of other territories.
