The body keeps a ledger even when the mind is still trying to narrate the situation as temporary. And that ledger is not only about spoons or fatigue in the simplified discourse of disability TikTok. It is about vigilance, translation, masking, administrative friction, sensory load, class position, safety calculations, transport, healthcare, gendered scrutiny, racialisation, access, and the repeated necessity of proving that your needs are real in systems that are materially incentivised to deny them.
