Here is how the “automated” society is going: Our city just spent $285 million on a “fully-automated” garbage program. They distributed gigantic new containers to every household to be picked up by automated trucks without the need for human workers. All containers were still at the curb this morning, unemptied. Over a day and a half late, the old trucks came by and a poor guy had to hoist these gigantic new bins and empty them by hand.

I have an inkling that much of our future will be pressing buttons that don’t work, trying to get a hold of a human who has been outsourced to a robot.
