WV GOP lawmakers passed a bill that would allow health care providers to “visually or physically examine a minor child” to identify “biological sex” without the “consent of the child’s parent, guardian, or custodian.”

To be clear, this is sexual assault.

As a social worker and mandated reporter, I would be required to call child protective services if I learned that a child had been undressed and touched without consent.

To put a finer point on it, this is state sanctioned sexual assault of a minor.
