Here's something fun about Substack and Stripe.
If someone disputes the charge for a paid subscription, you are automatically charged $15.
You lose that money no matter what happens.
If you choose to manually dispute that fee, it's another $15.
If you win, it's refunded. If you lose, it's gone forever.
So if you get a dispute, choose to manually dispute it, then lose the dispute the math is this:
Lose $15 for the dispute being filed
Lose $15 for the manual response.
And lose the annual subscription fee ($50).
So because someone didn't just email and ask for a refund (which I would have easily granted), I am now out at $15 at best and $80 at worse.
