Six Ironmans in. Brand new to rowing.
Over the years, I’d jump on the rower at the gym, crank the dial to 10, grind for 4 minutes, and get off feeling accomplished.
I thought I was doing it right.
Got a Concept2 for the garage in prep of baby #2 arriving.
Started going down a rabbit hole on form, damper settings, technique.
Turns out I'd been applying zero of my endurance knowledge to rowing.
I was just using “hard” as a crutch for doing it right.
That's a pattern worth noticing.
Now that I’m learning, I’m setting PRs on time, distance, and pace multiple times per week.
But that’s not even the real win -
My 2 year old likes it - and is actually good at it.
