There will always be conflict in a system where there are unmet needs. The longer we deny the needs, the longer the conflict. Nonviolence is thus not a passive act or ideology; it is the active creation of a better system.

We must hear people, hear their anger, and build up a system in response that meets all of our needs. That is the one outlet that will not end in increasing violence. In short, ending individual acts of violence requires ending the mass violence of the profit system and the state.
