Reddit wants to verify you're a real person now.

Not for ads. Not for data harvesting. Because the bots got so bad they had to.

Cloudflare's data says bot traffic will exceed human traffic by 2027. Discord's dealing with the same thing. Every major platform is drowning in AI-generated slop.

The anonymous reddit we grew up with is going away. And I think it's fine.

I don't mind AI-generated content. But I prefer transparency around it.

The real question isn't whether verification is coming.

It's why it took this long.

This almost makes me wanna Revisit reddit :)
