AI video generation and editing

free. runs locally on your laptop. no per render AI credit subscription.

(ironically, i admit this even though I charge AI credits in blotato!!)

remotion/hyperframes elts you bring your own footage, photos, broll. claude writes the remotion code to turn them into a polished edit with motion graphics, data viz, and animated overlays.

I don't expect most normal ppl to choose this route over polished tools like capcut, edits, etc.

BUT i do expect to see many more niche editing tools pop up. Each one optimized for a specific editing use case. For example: editing educational explainer videos.

I made massive improvements to my own shorts editing pipeline this week :)

once I'm happy with shorts, then will try my hand at longform Youtube

but I still have a long todo list.

I want to use shadcn with remotion, then develop a unique psychedelic design system so all my components/templates stay consistent. Throw in some three.js and anim for fun. And I need to organize broll footage I commonly use, e.g. receipts screenshots, company logos, selfies.
