Mahatma Gandhi’s ecological awareness predates the very useful of the expression itself. He demonstrated what circular economy could look like long before such phrases were even coined. It's time to go back and re-read his philosophy as the world plunges into collapse. We have hurtled from one crisis to another, creating a perfect avalanche of accumulating crises resulting in a “metacrisis”. Metacrisis is best denoted by Yeats’ lines:

“Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity.”
