I came across this great photo taken by Gustave Deresse. It inspired me. First to think of a poem to write for it, albeit not as good as imarkanx || istvan markan 🍁 (subscribe to him) Izabella 💌 (subscribe to her) but enough to accompany as adornment to a song I recommended to Gabriela Borin Barin For meditation: “Adagio in G Minor”
An Elegy, a Requiem and a Dirge
Steel learns to bleed beneath the factory’s crown,
Its pulse a fading echo through the industrial town,
The girders linger on, though their purpose has broken down,
Relics humming ghost-light where the century has wound down
Dark oxidized steel leans silent where the rail lines die,
Its weathered ribs dissolving into the pallor of the sky,
The river keeps the silt and rust the century left behind,
Doing the last of the labor as the years drift by.
