back in high school i read ted k's essay about a dozen times
there are a couple paragraphs in there about "oversocialization" of leftists in modern society which caused them stress
here's what I thought about the idea way back then:
Oversocialization is a term meant to refer to when modern life has so many social rules, so new, so quickly added, and oftentimes contradictory, that the burden of knowing all of them burns people out
I was thinking: every government building has it's own set of rules like the DMV or doctors office
every type of person has a specific interaction code but oftentimes it's a grey area
social morals change very quickly ( i know we all remembered 2020 )
basically: fear based social rules and there are a lot of them and they come from people culture institutions economics government law news etc

Not saying this is the correct interpretation
this is a brain dump of an idea I had in high school
