The neobank landscape is fragmenting and converging at the same time.

This ecosystem map shows six clear battlegrounds:

- Consumer crypto-native neobanks

- CEX-issued cards

- Self-custody wallets

- Enterprise crypto neobanks

- Native crypto card programs

- Traditional fintechs integrating crypto rails

The pattern is structural.

Exchanges are pushing cards to defend distribution. Wallets are adding payments to escape pure custody. Enterprise players are embedding treasury, spend control, and on/off-ramps. Traditional fintechs are absorbing crypto features without rebranding as “crypto.”

____

Cards are the bridge layer.

They abstract volatility, custody complexity, and compliance overhead into a familiar Visa/Mastercard wrapper. The user spends fiat. The backend handles stablecoins, exchange liquidity, or internal balances. This is infrastructure masking itself as a card program.

____

Enterprise neobanks signal the next shift.

Gnosis Business, Utila, Sphere, Crossmint, Request and others are not retail plays. They target DAOs, Web3 startups, cross-border operators, and crypto-native treasury stacks. This is programmable finance for organizations, not individuals.

____

Wallets entering payments change the trust model.

When MetaMask, Phantom, Ledger or Telegram integrate payment flows, custody and transaction initiation converge. The wallet becomes both identity layer and transaction layer. That compresses intermediaries.

____

Upcoming neobanks indicate the final phase: verticalization.

Plasma, FASQON, Zoth and similar entrants are not generic banks. They are thesis-driven financial products anchored to specific ecosystems or asset classes. Distribution-first, compliance-adapted.

____

The map is not about logos.

It reflects a power shift from balance-sheet banking to programmable money orchestration.

The control point is no longer deposits. It is transaction routing, card issuance, custody abstraction, and stablecoin liquidity management.

Whoever owns that stack defines the next banking layer.
