“Most immigrants don’t come to Europe looking for diversity.

They come looking for order.”

“Look after your own because if you don’t look after your own then you don’t look after the people on the fringes like us…” — Momus Najmi

The story we are sold is simple: immigrants supposedly want fluid identities and endless pluralism. Many of us who actually left unstable societies know better. We look for something very specific: a dominant culture that is willing to defend its own norms.

Not because we crave exclusion, but because we know what chaos looks like.

A confident majority culture means clear rules, reliable institutions, and a public code you can learn and live by. Without that, “integration” is just permanent improvisation.

In my case, Germany’s cultural backbone is not oppressive. It is the reason I trust this place more than the country I left. A host nation that believes in itself is easier to join than one that endlessly apologises for its own existence.

So here is the uncomfortable question for European elites: how exactly are immigrants meant to integrate into a society that no longer believes it has the right to exist as itself?
