The app for independent voices

The timing turned out to be rather perfect. Yesterday, I posted the final installment of Psalm 119, and so, today, on Easter Sunday, I am releasing my entire translation of the psalm all in one post, complete with notes, voiceover, and lithographs from the Israeli artist Mordecai Ardon. Details from his series of Creation tapestries adorn the covers of Robert Alter’s completed translation of the Hebrew Bible, which I have followed at many points in my own translation. So, as a subtle homage to both Alter and Ardon, I decided to include the images in my post of Psalm 119 as well. Each piece highlights certain letters of the Hebrew alphabet — a perfect compliment to the great acrostic poem of the psalter.
