lol it’s not my intention to argue about january 6th here (although imo it’s an entirely different species of event to the georgia racketeering/fake elector stuff) but if we’re being very strictly literal here an autogolpe is plainly not the same thing as a classical coup d’etat, despite the homonymy. you define a coup as “illegal seizure of executive power through force, usually carried out by the military,” but an autogolpe is not a seizure of power, it’s a unilateral redefinition of power. as far as i can tell, you and the maga guys both have somewhat elastic definitions of what constitutes a “coup,” which is really only to be expected for such a politically loaded term!
