Writing is so confusing. I open up a document here, in one program, copy the text, open up the Substack editor and paste it all into the online editor, doing edits at each step. Then I return to the original document on my desktop and edit it there, but that original copy doesn’t have the latest changes, which exist online, but I’m now working with two different versions.

What began as an exercise in figuring out what I thought just makes everything more complicated.
