Pressure → (well managed) → Creativity / Breakthrough
Pressure → (poorly managed) → Anxiety → (unchecked) → Depression → Wrong imaginations → Negative outcomes
Pressure can open two gates. It can unlock creativity and birth something great if properly managed. It can also lead to anxiety if not handled properly.
Anxiety, when left unchecked, can lead to depression.
At the stage of pressure, you can still communicate clearly with God and receive direction. The Bible says He is an ever-present help in times of need (Psalm 46:1).
However, when it escalates to anxiety, it becomes harder to hear God. Anxiety disrupts your focus and sensitivity. Scripture says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6).
If it progresses to depression, it opens up the soul to wrong imaginations—thought patterns that lead nowhere positive. The Bible warns that we should cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Depression makes a person more spiritually vulnerable, which is why guarding your heart and mind is essential (Proverbs 4:23).
Train yourself to rejoice always, even in difficult seasons. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation” (Isaiah 12:3).
