I’m 200 pages into War and Peace and I’m shocked at how engrossing the story is.
There are big things happening: inheritance disputes, marital strife, battles. The characters, especially Pierre and Andrei, are also incredibly relatable. I feel like I’m hanging with my buddies when I’m with them.
For some reason, I always thought this novel would be one of the harder ones to read. Maybe I’m about to hit a slow part? Maybe people say that because of it’s length (which is certainly intimidating)?
Not sure. But enjoying it so far, and it’s making me think a lot about what war and peace mean (aside from the geopolitical conflict definition), and what life is like under those opposing conditions.
