I’ve never been able to do a long, multi-step morning routine.
I think for most people—especially those who aren’t single, rich, and self-employed—a short, realistic routine with 1, maybe 2, good habits is ideal.
That way you’ll actually be able to do it consistently, and you won’t show up to work already exhausted from all your healthy habits.
Here’s my current morning routine:
Read classic literature for 30 minutes
Get dressed and drive my wife to work
Walk around my block (or to a cafe) to mentally transition into my writing session
Short, flexible, and achievable for the win.
