Summer gardening is always an adventure. When spotting an unknown insect, it is crucial to learn whether they are friend or foe. In this case, I was sure it was a beetle of some sort. However, turns out it is a moth. Meet Ailanthus Webworm, whose host plant is the invasive Tree of Heaven. The past two years we have had instances of the Tree of Heaven trying to get a foothold so I’ll let this guy do his or her thing.
