Auto renewals aren’t actually our fault. That’s how Substack works. Some of the people who email us to complain act as though we’ve done something untoward.
But! One of my subscribers just sent me such a lovely, polite, thoughtful email asking for a refund for the auto renewal that I refunded him and comped him an entire year.
A little less complaining and a little more connection goes a very long way.
