A CALL FOR ACTION!

I just had a great chat with

about all things Substack when she interviewed me for her Sparkle on Substack podcast this afternoon.

One of the many many views that I expressed was that we all, as users and creators on this platform, have a responsibility to bring more people here, not just as creators and writers but also as readers and consumers of content, be that notes, podcasts, chats etc as well as the longer form articles and pieces we are all here for too.

It feels to me like Substack is a book shop where the customers are mainly writers and lovely as that feels, I believe it’s in everyone’s best interest to get more people through the door of the book shop so that we can all find more readers for our work here.

Not everyone using the platform has to or needs to create content, but we can all do our bit to present it as the amazing space that it is for anyone to connect with thoughtful, intelligent, creative people and where you find good writing, articles, content of all kinds.

I’d love to start an open discussion here about what people currently do to promote their Substack and the writing of other people here and hopefully galvanise us all in to taking more action in building this beautiful place.

So please comment; how do you feel about what I have said and if you agree, what are you/ are you going to do about it?

PS please restack to get the conversation wider and let’s solve this as a community ❤️🌙
