It’s important that we all take the time to review the evidence that has been publicly released and reflect on what it means. The fact that serious allegations were brought to the FBI three decades ago by Maria Farmer, yet no investigations followed within our Ohio institutions, raises questions that deserve transparency and accountability.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre is the other survivor who named Wexner in a sworn affidavit.

Regardless of where we stand, we owe it to our communities to seek the truth, ensure that concerns are not ignored, and work toward systems that respond responsibly when allegations are brought forward.

Virginia Giuffre once told me the story about her and Les Wexner. I could never publish the story because it was told to me off the record. But I did know that she had signed a sworn affidavit about what happened. It was never clear to me what became of the affidavit and why it was never made public. But I was told Wexner’s name was contained in documents that was part of a civil case Virginia was engaged in with Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015. The defamation lawsuit she filed against Maxwell was settled in 2016.
