One of the most challenging symptoms of menopause for me has been this crazy uptick in anxiety. The only way I can describe it is feeling like I’m coming out of my body. Yes, I’m on HRT, and I took my doctor’s advice last year and chose to add a pharmaceutical solution as well. Things are better, but I still experience these episodes from time to time.
Last night was one of those times, in the middle of the night. Not fun.
With no result, I pulled my go-to ‘levers’ and decided eating something might help. I grabbed turkey jerky instead of a carb-based snack. Guess what? Within 10 minutes, my body settled, and I could get back to sleep. Protein! It helped ground my body. I thought I’d share in case this might help someone else.
Has anyone else experienced this symptom? What are your go-to’s?
