But I want to say here how much I admire Sally Rooney, and all 700 people who have been arrested for taking a stand against authoritarian misuse of terrorism legislation. I also admire all those individuals who engage in or support direct action to disrupt the flow of arms from our country to the genocidal colonial entity occupying Palestine. Because Rooney and I share a profession, her bravery in the use of her considerable platform has particularly motivated me to try and be brave in using my (far more modest) one over the past two years.
