The difference between a client group and a non-client group to power. The Muslims are not only backed by the state, but also highly organised and tribal. Christians do have some level of organisation but are as tribal as your typical individualist liberal.

British establishment conservatives seem largely indifferent to alienating Christians and ever fretful over the prospect of alienating Muslims.
