The mind is an instrument of connection. Without practice and tuning, without the opportunity to expand its repertoire of thoughts, it can become stuck repeating the same songs, the same limited thought patterns. The resulting confinement can be painful, the malnourishment manifests in recognizable ways: boredom, apathy, craving for short-term gratification, fear, feeling stuck. In the act of opening to the unknown, we make a radical choice to reach beyond the false comforts of familiarity. Exploration of the workings of this life, this world, history, humanity, the universe (anything really) in service to the truth expands our sense of possibility
