It seems like everyone is talking about a meta-crisis.

What if we reframed it as a metamorphosis?

Before a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, it dissolves inside a cocoon. The structures that once sustained it break down completely.

Although I'm not a caterpillar, this is probably a dark and disorienting process, but it's required for transformation.

This seems like exactly what we’re experiencing as a species.

Ecological instability. Institutional collapse. Spiritual disconnection. These aren’t just signs of decay, but also early indications that something new is trying to be born.

The breakdown is the beginning of the reorganization.

And when we shift the frame from "crisis" to metamorphosis, a few things start to happen:

We start to trust the process. Instead of focusing on fear and panic, we start to shift our attention to what wants to emerge.

We see ourselves as participants, not victims.

We engage in inner and outer work with equal reverence, understanding that our personal healing and awakening are not separate from planetary transformation, but rather the foundation for the shift.

We become stewards of a new culture. Every choice to tell the truth, to act with care, to lead from depth sew the seeds for the next chapter.

I don't think reframing what's happening as a metamorphosis will make the challenges go away.

But I do think it's much more empowering way to relate to everything.

And if I’ve learned one thing, it is our relationship with what’s unfolding that determines the quality of our lives.
