For most of my life I believed that I created my reality.

It's not that I don't believe in this anymore, it's just that my understanding of what this means has fundamentally changed.

For the first 30 years of my life, I held a very self-deterministic view of the world.

You get in what you put out and your reality is determined by the choices and actions you take within your locus of control.

This is just about what everyone in our culture will tell you and there is some truth to it.

But in my experience it is only a partial truth.

I now see that there is a lot more going on here.
