Unpopular opinion: Having a "conscious" mission doesn't automatically make your company a conscious place to work.

I've seen this pattern play out a few times:

- Mission-driven startup with noble goals

- Passionate founder who genuinely wants to make a difference

Yet somehow... a toxic workplace emerges

The truth is, you can be solving climate change, revolutionizing mental health, or transforming education, but if the leadership hasn't done their own inner work, the company culture will reflect those unexamined patterns.

So even though the company is doing good in the world, it ends up being a shitty work environment.

A truly conscious company isn't just about WHAT you're building, but also HOW you're building it.

The most aligned companies I've seen are led by founders who:

- Prioritize their own growth and healing

- Create psychological safety for others to do the same

- Build cultures where inner work is honored and people can bring their full selves to the workplace

I think we’re going to see an expansion in preferences amongst the workforce.

More and more working for a mission driven company isn't not going to be enough.

People will desire to work in environments that support and nourish their whole being.
