One of the most expensive habits I see in successful people is the obsession with being right. It kills conversations. It kills deals. It kills the chance to learn from someone who sees things differently than you do. The moment you stop white-knuckling your own position, everything opens up. You can hold strong convictions and still be curious. In fact, the sharpest people I've ever sat across from are the ones who hold their opinions the loosest.
