Robert Mueller was a decorated war hero and Marine veteran. During the Vietnam War, he led a rifle platoon and recovered a fallen Marine under heavy fire. Despite being shot in the leg during an ambush, he returned to combat just three months later. He served as a Marine officer, graduated from Army Ranger School, and was inducted into the Army Ranger Hall of Fame in 2004. He was awarded the Bronze Star with "V" device and the Purple Heart.
