The hardest thing when it comes to managing screen time is the answer to the question, “now what?”
Finding ideas of what to do with our kids when we're not in front of kids is hard to do. I often find myself cycling through the same 3 or 4 things.
✅️ Go to the park
✅️ Play with toys
✅️ Color
✅️ Read a book
I want to do so much more but it's really hard to think outside the box
If you're like me, it's been close to 20 years since I've tapped into my childhood imagination and truly played.
But something that I learned from watching Bluey, (yes I see the irony), is that the easiest way to play with kids is to follow their lead. They are experts at imaginary play so just follow what they do and you'll go on all kinds of amazing adventures together.
What about you? Have any of you found it difficult to dust off your imagination muscles and truly play? What strategies have you found to help break the barrier and be like a kid again?
