Here’s part two on Trump’s DC invasion and crime stats. This time around I do a deep and hopefully entertaining dive into how crime stats are compiled, who compiles them, what the holes in the process are, etc. It’s a shit show, especially for those who have never wandered into it, and because it is, the who crime stat thing is easy for politicians, pundits, and public officials to use stats to snow you. Simply knowing how things work in real life is the key to bullshit-detecting your way out of the snow and debunking assholes like Trump.
