FIST OF THE NORTH STAR - WRITTEN BY BURONSON, ART BY TETSUO HARA - 1983-1988 - I was always weirded out by this comic - specifically the 12 foot tall guys with baby faces & steroid physiques. This was even more refined & concentrated in Jo Jo’s Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko Araki - then at some point I just accepted the premise & got into it - when I was able to drop my own desire for things to “make sense” this comic very clearly became this mythological treatise on the eternal conflict of the mighty vs. the weak & the stranger who comes into the conflict & champions the weak but is even stronger than the predators. It’s still a weird aesthetic, the size differences in characters is strange, but it’s like the Bible or Medieval art - the important things are big & the unimportant things are small.
