The app for independent voices

As a full-time writer and editor, friends and family often ask me to look over something they wrote.

The most common piece of feedback I give is, “That section looks like you used ChatGPT. Change it.”

There’s always little tells, like the constant parallelism “It’s not just X, it’s Y.”

The use of annoying AI words like delve and tapestry.

There’s the overly neutral phrasing, lack of personalized flair, and the highly structured, generic phrasing, with constant phrases like “furthermore”, “in conclusion”, and “it is important to note”.

There’s the monotonous and repetitive sentence lengths.

To hell with all the AI gurus: Spotting AI writing is actually really, really, really easy.

Ironically, readers are just getting better at detecting AI rather than AI getting better at evading their eyes.

Be a human. Write your own content.
