I reached a new milestone yesterday; today, I am officially a senior citizen—by anyone’s measure.

Winnipeg’s “felt like” temperatures hit -51 degrees Celsius yesterday (!!), but my day was warm and rich with the blessings of family and friends.

This morning I awoke early, my heart too full to sleep.

Life is hard; we must be brave. Life is beautiful; we must seek the beauty. No matter where life finds you today, this is my prayer for all of us: may we have courage enough to face the challenges, a heart to seek and savour the beauty, no matter how hidden it might be, and faith sufficient to hold on to hope, no matter how dark the circumstances might seem.
