At some point, MLB managers started pulling their starters out of the game even though they were pitching a gem. I’ve seen it a handful of times where the starter had an active no-hitter going.
On Sunday Night Baseball, Seattle’s starting pitcher Emerson Hancock pitched six no-hit innings with a career-high 9 Ks. He was taken out by manager Dan Wilson. We’ll never know how much longer Hancock could’ve gone.
Wilson was probably right to pull him at 97 pitches. But he should at least get a shot at the no-hitter, right?
