Google's new CAPTCHA system treats using a VPN or private browsing as evidence you might be a bot.

When it flags you as suspicious, it skips the image puzzles and displays a QR code instead that you have to scan to access the website.

The new loop:

protect your privacy, get flagged, prove you're human by running Google's surveillance software.

Private browsing gets flagged because there's no stored history to establish "trust."

VPNs get flagged because shared IP addresses look suspicious.

The people most likely to hit the prompt are exactly the ones who were already trying not to be tracked.
