Is Mail Privacy Protection actually turned on in your Apple Mail settings?

If it's off, every marketer, data broker, or anyone using an email tracking pixel gets your IP address, your rough location, and the exact second you opened their message.

This occurs automatically and invisibly, on every email. You don't have to click anything.

Here’s how to check on your iPhone:

Settings → Apps → Mail → Privacy Protection → Protect Mail Activity.

It's on by default in iOS 15+, but device migrations and third-party mail clients have a way of quietly resetting it.

Worth the ten seconds to confirm.
