Make money doing the work you believe in

When you think about it 19th century novels are full of women who can’t respect a man that isn’t a Hegelian. There’s Dorothea Brooke of course, but when we first meet Isabel Archer she’s “trudging over the sandy plains of a history of German Thought” while the rain falls on her rooftop “heavily.”

Sadly unlike Jo and Dorothea, Isabel never meets her synthesis.

RIP Jo March you would have loved Dimes Square (moving to New York to write autofiction, date older men, get annoyingly into Hegel).
