My question: if Ohio can't seem to adequately handle the train disaster (as a chemist I am completely outraged at the lack of evacuation) how will they handle nuclear disasters? OH House Bill 434 - Enact Advanced Nuclear Technology Helping Energize Mankind Act "development of advanced nuclear reactor commercialization, isotope production and nuclear waste reduction" "does not include any direct funding but would establish a state nuclear development authority meant to attract federal research contracts. It would also be eligible for state economic development funding and would have the authority to acquire property." Ohio's largest corruption case involves nuclear energy - that is still going on re HB 6. As an aside: Ohio's 2 nuclear power plants on the shorelines of Lake Erie have always been a concern as they sit very close to a fault line in the lake - yes, we do have earthquakes here. https://ohiohouse.gov/legislation/134/hb434
