Core Technical Bottlenecks

  1. Glass Fiber Processing Challenges

    • Q-glass (Quartz Glass Fiber): The material is extremely hard and supply is highly constrained. Existing mechanical and laser drilling equipment cannot reliably perform micro-via fabrication. Without a complete redesign of the drilling process, mass production is not feasible.

    • NEZ Glass: This new glass fiber developed by Nittobo offers better processability; however, its dielectric performance (Dk) has not yet met customer requirements for ultra-high-speed, ultra-low-loss applications.

  2. Copper Foil Risks

    • HVLP4 Copper Foil: Validation risk remains high. During lamination, the material is prone to delamination and substrate warpage, indicating insufficient process stability.
