Make money doing the work you believe in

TSMC Chairman C.C. Wei sent an email to employees this afternoon regarding the company’s bonus payout on May 29.

He said the company understands employees are highly concerned about the profit-sharing results, so the inquiry system will open early on May 27, allowing employees to check their individual bonus details during working hours.

Wei thanked employees for their efforts and contributions, noting that TSMC’s revenue in the first quarter of 2026 grew 30% year over year. While individual bonus amounts will still vary depending on job grade, seniority, performance reviews, and other factors, he said: “I believe the full-year growth rate of profit-sharing bonuses this year will be higher than last year’s.”

Wei also said he understands how much employees value profit-sharing bonuses and has heard their concerns. As a result, he has canceled his originally scheduled business trip and will hold a communication meeting at 10 a.m. tomorrow to explain the situation and answer questions face to face.

The company plans to open 41 large venues, including auditoriums and conference rooms across Taiwan. Registration is limited to employees and will be handled online. Due to limited capacity at each location, seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Wei’s internal email sparked intense discussion within TSMC. Less than half an hour after the email was sent, registration for the communication meeting was already closed, reflecting employees’ strong attention to the bonus issue.
