Believe me, I know self-publishing isn't for everyone. I confess that I used to see it as the secondary option, the thing you do if you can't get published traditionally.
But when I look at this wee stack of three books, I don't see resignation of any kind. It doesn't feel like “the secondary option” to me, anymore.
When I look at this small body of work so far, I see personal growth, skill-building, evolution, adaptation, the incredible generosity and support of others, and a whole heap of goodness ahead in a career I intend to work at until I die.
I guess the point is: self-publishing is what you make of it. It's only “secondary” if you treat it that way. ❤️
