If you liked my recent investigation into Hippocratic AI, you’ll love this one into Commure, another failing portfolio company of General Catalyst. (I know you’ve blocked me on LinkedIn, Hemant, but I hope there are no hard feelings. 😉)
Not surprisingly, I found some of the same traits I saw in Hippocratic AI: a toxic culture, an unclear product that seems to be a Frankenstein mix of products from companies Commure has acquired, and a concentration of large customers who are also investors. The latter point creates a clear conflict of interest, in my opinion.
While I criticize the company, I also believe there are good people inside it. My interview with Commure’s President, Dan Warner, revealed quite a few positives.
